โA Journey to Discover the True Story of Beauty as Proposed by Seoulโ
As a festival that showcases Seoulโs industries, lifestyles, tourism, and culture, Seoul Beauty Travel Week has become a major event that highlights the cityโs lifestyle trends. ๐๐
For 2024, under the theme of โA Journey to Discover the True Story of Beauty as Proposed by Seoul,โ the festival will offer curated local experiences centered around the concepts of โRest,โ โTaste,โ and โStyle.โ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ
Now in its third year, 2024 Seoul Beauty Travel Week will take place around the Seongdong-gu area, after previous events were held in Jongno-gu and Yongsan-gu.
Seongdong-gu, home to Seoul Forest, is known as a K-wellness hub. ๐ซ๐๐
This year's festival will feature a variety of experiential contents and performances designed to allow attendees to fully enjoy "Rest," "Taste," and "Style." In keeping with the wellness theme, there will also be relaxation areas where you can unwind. Choose a place to relax from the Picnic Zone, Bean Bag Zone, or Sleep Zone, and enjoy the ultimate healing experience. ๐
Additionally, Seongsu is considered one of trendiest areas among Millennials & Gen Zs. Along with the top Korean beauty brand Amore Seongsu, this yearโs festival will feature collaborations with a diverse range of brands and pop-up stores such as the fusion snack brand OFTT. Be sure to not miss out on these exciting offerings! ๐

โA Space Where Urban Nature and Culture Meetโ
The Seoul Outdoor Library, now in its third year, was designed to promote a culture of reading and cultural activities in an open-air setting. As the worldโs first outdoor library project focused on enhancing environmental awareness and fostering a connection with nature, it has received widespread attention and appreciation since its launch. ๐๐๐
This year, the Seoul Outdoor Library has been expanded and is now available in three locations: Seoul Plaza, Cheonggyecheon, and Gwanghwamun Square. ๐

โA Living Room in the City โ Seoul Plazaโ๐
Seoul Plaza has been set up so that anyone can enjoy reading on its spacious grassy area. It features around 5,000 books organized into 11 categories curated by Seoul Library. ๐
The collection is divided into three sections: Witnessing ~, Meeting ~, Fulfilling ~. Choose a theme according to your preference and enjoy! ๐โโ๏ธ
Just reading might get a bit dull, right? That is why a variety of other programs have been prepared as well. At Seoul Plaza, you can enjoy a range of cultural experiences, ranging from special programs offering various activities to live performances.
On weekdays, Seoul Plaza offers urban relaxation for nearby office workers; while on weekends, it provides memorable experiences for families. The area is divided into four zones โ Performance Zone, Reading Zone, Play Zone, and Popup Zone โ to offer both relaxation and fun. ๐ญ๐๐ช

โOasis in the Heart of the City โ Gwanghawmun Squareโ๐
The Outdoor Library in Gwanghwamun Square is a specially designed space where you can enjoy a โbookcationโ right in the heart of the city.
The space is divided into an outdoor area and an indoor area.
The outdoor area is divided into four sections: Yukjo Plaza, Gado Space, Nori Plaza, and Hechi Plaza. ๐
Yukjo Plaza features a vast lawn where you can enjoy various performing arts programs. Gado Space and Nori Plaza offer platforms to showcase Seoulโs charm and a book camping space. In Hechi Plaza, you can read with the comfort of parasols and portable sofas while gazing at the sky. โบ
Meanwhile, the indoor area features the Gwanghwamun Lounge, where you can browse through a diverse collection of books and interesting materials.โฑ
At Gwanghwamun Square Library, a variety of programs every is held on a weekly basis. Be sure to check the Seoul Outdoor Library website to see which programs are available and plan your visit accordingly.
Donโt miss out on chance for a romantic day at Yukjo Plaza, where you can lounge on a cozy sofa with the sky as your blanket, all while surrounded by ancient palaces!๐

Here, you will find over 2,000 books for all ages including picture books, new releases, and cultural books, all arranged in bookshelves and book baskets shaped like animal figures.๐
You can enjoy reading while listening to classical music by the refreshing Cheonggyecheon Stream, which flows through the heart of Seoul.๐ฆป๐ป๐ต
In addition, you will also find a framed photo zone, flower photo zone, and signage setups, allowing you to capture even more beautiful memories.๐ธ

โEnjoying a Seoul Outing in the Flower Fields of Ttukseomโ
This year, even bees and butterflies are flocking to Ttukseom Hangang Park in Seoul for the Seoul International Garden Show 2024!!๐
The park has become quite popular for weekend family outings and couples to enjoy blossoming flowers. In just five days 1.02 million guests visited the park for the expoโsounds intriguing, right? ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ
Running from May to October, the Seoul International Garden Show offers you a chance to observe various plant species and admire their beauty from spring to fall.
Spanning approximately 10,460 square meters, you will find a total 76 gardens gathered in one place, including the Invitational Gardens, Show Gardens, Citizen Gardens, Corporate Gardens, and Global Gardens, which you can explore at your leisure. You can also join a guided tour at the information center to learn about the background and creation of each garden. ๐ณ๐
When you exit the subway station near Ttukseom Hangang Park, you will be greeted by a large Hechi, the mascot of Seoul. Once you have spotted Hechi, it is time to immerse yourself in the vibrant display of colorful flowers! With the flower fields as your backdrop, every corner will become a prime photo spot, so make sure to bring an extra battery for your phone or camera! ๐น๐ผ๐ป
As a final stop, make sure to visit the Everscape Garden Observatory. There you will be treated to stunning sunset views and breathtaking cityscapes! ๐
Oh, and more thing! There are designated areas throughout Hangang Park where you can set up shade tents. After your garden stroll, we recommend to take advantage to enjoy a relaxing picnic by the river!

There are truly a variety of sights and activities to enjoy in Seoul! As the saying goes, autumn is the best time to read books, so come on over to Gwanghwamun Square this fall for some leisure reading!
Seoul Beauty Travel Week 2024, in particular, is something to look forward to! The event venue, Seoul Forest, is currently one of the hottest spots favored by Millennials and Gen Zs. The area is filled with various of pop-up stores, popular eateries, and uniquely themed cafes.
